The Parents
We are pleased to be able to say that Skye has been health tested (by DDC Veterinary) and is free and clear of EIC, PRA/PRD, nor CNM!
(Definitions are on "Our Dogs" page.) We are also happy to report that Skye has had her elbows and hips tested by OFA. Her elbow consensus was "normal" and her hip evaluation was "good." |

AKC Registered Genetic testing paperwork on its way to us! |
We really like the advice in this book for training a puppy. It also works for older dogs and has good advice for problem behaviors. It gives you step by step and week by week instructions, and it focuses on rewarding good behavior rather than punishing bad behavior.

Comments from our past adopting parents:
- Ruger had his well puppy check last week. He weighed in at 18 pounds; the vet was impressed with his structure and said we were lucky to find such a great puppy! We ended up moving his crate into our bedroom and he only wakes to go to the bathroom at night now. His "accidents" are very limited still; I feel like the work you started at your place has made a big difference, and we are very grateful. I feel like he will always be a baby at heart; he loves to snuggle and play. Our older dog is learning to play gently with him also and they are getting along great!
- [Ruger is now] 18 weeks old. He weighs about 35 pounds. He is a perfect fit for our family; he can be active, but has no problem being lazy and snuggling. He even helped pick some lettuce out of the garden, mostly for himself...lol He is mostly potty trained..meaning I can't remember the last accident...He comes when called and listens when told NO. I can't believe what a perfect boy he is; we are so thrilled!
- Happy holidays from our little lady Sadie. She has made the transition quite well and is a very happy little girl. Thank you again. Everyone loves her.
- I wanted to let you know that Dancer has settled in quite nicely to her new home. The kids were positively ecstatic and have all agreed that this was, by far, the best Christmas ever. We've had no whining from her or anything. The kids have officially named her Cocoa. Cocoa had her fist vet appointment yesterday and all went well. She also slept through the night last night in her crate in our room. None of our babies ever did that! She loves running around the yard chasing her new balls and is happily napping in our family room amid all the chaos of the holiday. We cannot thank you enough for the wonderful start you gave her. She was clearly loved and part of your family.
- Nick is doing well; he loves his toy duck; we named him Koda which is Native American and means friend and companion and from the Disney movie Brother Bear. We love him to pieces; he now makes our family complete; he is such a joy and full of spirit! We can't thank you enough for such a wonderful puppy!
- Just wanted to let you know how Koda is doing. He is now 12 weeks old and is growing quick right before our eyes, he is about 25 lbs and is such a joy!! He loves the snow and just hanging out. He loves to play and thinks we are his playmates...he is doing great; he puts himself to bed around 8:00. He still sleeps with your blanket and carries it around the house; we are so happy to have him in our family; everyone loves him to pieces. We get so many compliments on how handsome he is!
- Thank you so much for everything. My wife hasn't stopped gushing about the adorable presentation or Ryder since we left your place. Everyone at the vet office says he is the best behaved lab puppy they've ever seen. Also, every single person including the vets look at his paws and say, "He's gonna be a big dog." We couldn't have asked for a better dog.
- [Ryder is] a fantastic dog, amazing with kids, and very sweet. Super easy to train, smart, and just plain fun. We love him!
- Visiting family in Michigan and spending time with Blitzen, what an amazing temperament, and what a big dog! Wish I could take him home with me! I think he is at about 90 lb now very active and loves to play fetch!
- We recently adopted a puppy from Homewood Croft Labs. He is just what one would want in a dog: curious and playful, smart and loving. It is clear that this puppy was given a very good start in life as he is so well adjusted. We were sent home with a complete care package that made for an easy transition. We would highly recommend a Homewood Croft puppy!
- As we think about the many things we are grateful for this Thanksgiving your family comes to mind. We so appreciate all you did to give Lucca such a wonderful beginning. Your willingness to look after him for the extra time was so generous and we think helped him to be the delightful dog that he is. All who meet him comment on his wonderful disposition as well as how adorable he is!
- Lucca is a tough act to follow. We are constantly amazed at how quickly he picks up routines, much faster than any other dog we’ve had. We have had many people who see us walking inquire about where we got him as they are quite impressed with how sweet and calm he is. I think he remembers all the play sessions at your home as he loves to play with other dogs. He makes us laugh every day! We can’t thank you enough!
- At 11 weeks old Cooper can- Sit on command- comes when called (most of the time LOL) and we are working on sitting in front of me when called- He does that about ½ the time. He is crate trained and no longer has any accidents at night in his VERY large crate ( 2 full grown labs can fit in this thing). Cooper LOVES car rides and chasing the chickens around the yard. Cooper is a good puppy.
- Hi, an update on Cooper. He is now 1:) We just celebrated his birthday! Copper is a BIG boy, weighing in around 80 lbs currently and still needs to grow and fill out. Cooper is a great family dog for us. Full of puppy energy but still laid back when needed. Loves his little sisters. He is a goofy boy and loves to swim. We are having allergy issues with him in the water, but cannot keep him out of the water (or mud!)! So he is a bit itchy:( He completed obedience school this spring and we plan on going back this fall for the 2nd course. He was the best dog in the class!
- Cato is really doing well; he's a good boy. Great personality; very affectionate; quite handsome, and smart, too. As you had said when we first got him...he'll be the one to be laying at your feet (actually on the sofa!)
This is a picture of Lucca when he was ten months old. He was from our 2016 litter with Lizzy and Ruger. Doesn't he have such a sweet face?!?
Cooper is from our 2016 litter with Lizzy and Ruger. He looks like he is watching over the farm!
